After School Enrichment

A place where kids grow, play, and connect—in Spanish!

Our after-school program welcomes children from Kindergarten through 5th grade, whether they’re just starting out with Spanish or already speak it at home. Everyone’s welcome.

We create a fun, hands-on environment where kids learn by doing—through art, science, cooking, sports, and more. It’s full immersion, but it doesn’t feel like work. Spanish becomes part of the experience, not a subject to study.

Our caring teachers get to know each child and help them build confidence, friendships, and language skills at their own pace. The goal? A space where kids feel seen, supported, and excited to learn.

Come see how bilingual learning fits naturally into a joyful, active afternoon.

Join us—let’s grow together. 🌻

Program Details

The program runs Monday – Friday from school dismissal to 6:00pm. Although children from all elementary schools and homeschooled students are invited to attend, we are pleased to provide complimentary bus transportation from several local elementary schools (Ashburton, Farmland, Garrett Park, Luxmanor and Wyngate).  To add bus service, we need a minimum of 4 full-time kids from that school.  Want to help spread the word?  Here is our flyer!

Outdoor Time

As soon as children arrive, they head directly to our playgrounds for some much-needed fresh air, exercise and time with friends.

Snack

Following outdoor play, children enter their large, light-filled classroom to enjoy a healthy, nutritious snack.

Spanish Enrichment

Each week, children work towards Spanish learning goals through the use of “I can” statements, such as “I can say where I went” or “I can describe an object”.

Fun Activities

Children will engage in a wide variety of kid-favorite activities including weekly sports and games (Capture the Flag, kickball, ping-pong and board games), art exploration, STEM projects (taking apart an old printer, testing our Raspberry Pi skills, working with Lego Robotics kits or trying a new trick with Makey Makey) and loads of opportunities for hands-on cooking projects!

Free Time

After our activity, children are given free time to explore their interests. They can choose from a fun LEGO wall, building center, woodworking area, coding center, art and makerspace, open-ended play area, cozy reading corner, board games and a ping-pong table.

Homework

A designated table is available for children that want or need some quiet space to complete their homework. Counselors are on hand to answer questions or guide children through a challenge.

Communication

We use Playground which is an app that lets our counselors send you updates and photos in real-time about your child’s day. You’ll also receive important information and more photos in our weekly newsletters every Friday.

MCPS Half Days and In-Service Days

We are open on all Montgomery County Public School half days and in-service days, and we provide an option to join us for camp over spring break. On full days, we typically venture out on a pre-planned field trip, and on half days, we often include an in-house field trip or special guest.
